For those of you who enjoy History, a fairly good account of the history of El Salvador, which explains the culture of Wealthy Landowners and workers who generally live in poverty, can be read here
and for those who can read in Spanish or have a trusted translator, here is a little information about our Land Owner.
I am not saying that our land owner should be compared to the Landowners who history shows lived in wealth, while the peasant farmers who worked their land suffered in poverty. But that just as history shows, the workers in the field are often overlooked or take for granted.
Our Land: The Land where the first Children's center of The Father's Heart Foundation will be established.
The 8 acres of land that we are fundraising to purchase is a 3/4 of the land owned by Don José Rutilio Quezada. Quezada was born in 1930 in Quezaltepeque and grew up with a love for organic farming and for reading. He is now a professor and author and resides in California, USA. This land used to be a shade grown coffee plantation. and was the inheritance left to Don Rutilio by his late father, who left a portion of land that extends from where our land is all the way to the San Salvador Volcano (I am not sure of the exact amount, but it is a few hectares of land). Don Rutilio and his 5 siblings decided to cast lots for the land, so that it would not be divided into small portions but ould remain as good sized coffee plantations. Almost all of his siblings have now moved away, only one is left in Quezaltepeque and is living a life consumed by alcohol. Most of the land has been divided up and sold and those living on the land are mostly squaters; former employees of the Quezada Coffee Plantation(s) (this is the history according to Don Manuel de Jesus Olaisola, they too are squaters. there house is just outside the property line of The Father's Heart Foundation, and is situated on Don Rutilio's brother's land)
Manuel began working on the coffee plantation at the age of 14. He never completed his formal education, but he did learn to raed and to write. He was a hard worker and by the time the plantation was abandoned (30 years ago)& the family began to move away (during the war) Don Manuel was left to care for the land. while the coffee continued to grow, unharvested, he began to harvest the 25+ species of fruit and to live off of the land.
Manuel and Maria moved into the small house, where they still reside, 50 years ago at the ages of 20 and 13. They have raised a small family there. Their son, who died in his 20's after falling from the back of an over-packed bus, leaving behind 3 children. and Two daughters who are now married, one daughter having nothing to do with her parents because of her husband. They also lost several children in miscarriage or premature birth.
We met Don Manuel in the Fall of 2008. He and Maria have faithfully cared for our crops, chickens and security. They have caught the vision for The Father's HEart Foundation and are looking forward to being grandparents to 84 orphaned and abandoned children.
It is our desire to build them a house. The house that they live in was built over 50 years ago and does not hold up well against rain and wind, or small creatures. A small house has been included for them in our MAster Plan, but now with Don Manuel's failing eyesight it is eminent that we build their house soon! We need approximatley $30, 000 to build this house
We have written to the land owner to request for his help in caring for Don Manuel, but we see it as our responsability, not only as his new employers, but as his friends and more importantly as servants of Christ.
Samuel brought Don Manuel to the hospital this morning to have an eye exam, and while he has had good health since the day we met him his eyes have quickly deteriorated (over about 2 weeks), to the point that Samuel had to lead him to the car and help him in, beacuse he could not see. We believe that God wants to be glorified in this situation and in the life of Don Manul and Maria. We know that God has the power to heal and that He can also chose to use medication an/or surgery to heal Don Manuel's eyes. or He may chose to allow Don Manuel to become completely blind and for us to care for him. It is our prayer that God would be glorified and that Don Manuel and Doña Maria would know Him personally (they have both grown up in the Catholic Faith (they would be "nominal catholics" as they do not attend Mass or really practice their faith) and they know a lot about God. Over the past year we have been able to share with them a lot, in both word and deed, what it is to have a personal relationship with Christ.
Please join us in praying for Don Manuel and for his wife. and also for wisdom for us and for provision! Adn if you feel lead to give, please contact us or click on the DONATE NOW link on our website: www.corazondelpadre.org

Ashes into Beauty
Our God is so amazing!
We have been amazed by God's leading and provision and how He is opening doors for us to purchase the land, construct the Children's Center and become self-sufficient...we are still waiting to touch the promises that we see, but we know they are ours!
One thing that amazes me in how God works though is how He takes our brokenness and weaknesses and uses them for His glory and how even the broken things of this world can be used for glory in His church.
A recent example of this of course is the much publicized Haiti. We have been blessed by seeing the response of the world, but especially of God's people in the face of disaster and have been encouraged as we follow news and especially of some of our dear friends in Florida who we haven't seen since New Hope so many years ago...
Personally we prayed for Haiti and we prayed for our friends who are helping there and we wished that we could have helped...but who would have thought that out of the ashes of Haiti, The Father's Heart Foundation and El Salvador would be blessed?
We received a promise to purchase 50% of the land here and to help with building the Children's Center, but even the company who made the promise didn't know how they would provide all that we need. And then the destruction of Haiti...
as this same company went in with a vision of Nehemiah to rebuild the destruction and follow the same course that he followed, meeting the "King" etc. They were blessed with two contracts to rebuild Haiti. The UN, USAid and UNICEF have contracted them to build 250, 000 homes in Haiti and a local Haitian businessman has contracted them for 10, 000 other homes! We were praising God for the provision for Haiti when God turned that blessing back to us, who are so undeserving and yet, by His grace we humbly accept His amazing provision! With the some of the profit from these contracts the promise to purchase 50% of our land and to help construct the Children's Center will be realized!
But we still need YOU!! We need individuals and corporations to give towards the purchase of the other 50% of the land and to constructing more houses! And we need teams and individuals to come and help build! We also need family sponsors and personal supporters! Please pray and seek God as to how you can give!

Clearing the Land, permissions and a call for help!
We have begun clearing the land for planitn our second crop...we look forward to the rains and to seeing our second harvest, which will be a blessing to the community and to an orphanage nearby. We hope to be able to harvest enough this year to also sell some of our harvest and raise money towards the purchase of the land!
As we begin to work on the land more we have gone back to the city hall to look into the different government permissions that we need. As the governemnet has all benn changed sine we began, some of their requirements have also changed and we need wisdom, discernment and wise counsel as we move forward, to know what is needed, what is the cost and what is just an officer looking for pocket money (bribes).
Please pray with us as we move forward in developing the land! ALSO, as we develop, we are working in fatiht that this land IS ours and that God will provide all that we need to buy i., We are so thankful for the document that we have which is a promise of sale and purchase which says that the fruit of the land is ours and that we can begin developing the land, with the knowledge that if we default everything that we put into the land will also default to the land owner.
If you would like to help us with purcahsing the land or in fundraising for the land, please contact us, or see the ways that you can support us on the side bar of this page!

Team Opportunity
We are raising funds to begin construction of our First Family House this year! We do not have the exact dates yet, but are thinking the end of September. In the future we will probably be working with a prefab-building material for all of our houses, but for our first house we will be using Block, rebar and cement (we will rent a cement mixer to make things easy for you).
We have our house plans already and will have manual labourers as well as one brick-layer and a contractor here. But we would love to have some expert bricklayers to work with us, making sure that the construction keeps a high quality while being completed quickly.
Our home is open for a team of 12 people, and we are inviting a few expert bricklayers that we know and giving them (and you!) the option of organizing 1-5 team members to come with them and help with the construction.
Food and accommodation are by donation, and your transport within El Salvador and Tourism will be provided by The Father’s Heart Foundation. Otherwise, we ask that you provide your airfare and donate your time and expertise to the construction of our First Family Home.
We are working right now with our first family parents and as soon as the house is built we will move in with them to complete our training course and prepare for the first set of orphaned and abandoned children; which we hope to receive around this time next year.
If you could pray and save and prepare to come and serve for 10-20 days here in El Salvador, we would be so happy to have you here!
Please let us know what you think and if you have any questions! And please check out our Group on FaceBook and here on our blog for regularly updated information. You can also look up El Salvador on the Lonely Planet website ~ they have listed us as one of the top ten destinations for 2010!
Please contact us soon and let us know what you think, or if you know of anyone else who might be interested!

November | December News and 2010 plans
Community Evangelism November 2009
We (the directors) left El Salvador on November 8th for Kent, Ohio. The day before our travels, we had an evangelistic event in the community where the Children’s Center will be. We were able to share with community about who we are, as a foundation, and were also able to share a gospel message, pray for about 20 people who came forward, lead one young man to Christ and encourage and bless the other about 120 guests who came to enjoy our skits, songs, piñatas and preaching. Although there were heavy rains the entire time, we still had a good turn out and were blessed to use someone’s shelter as it was too windy even for tarps on the land. When we return in January and begin more intensive evangelism and discipleship, we will need to build a temporary shelter for holding meetings and classes on the land.
Trip To Kent, Ohio
In Kent we had two key ministry meetings, both of which were blessed. We met with Kent State University to present The Father’s Heart Foundation and to discuss the possibility of setting up an ongoing Internship program with University Students coming to work with us in El Salvador, which we are now actively working towards and looking forward to in the near future. Our other meeting was with a business there who would like to provide what we need to have a working well which will provide water to the Children’s Center as well as to the surrounding community. Other than those two meetings we worked with Pastor Paul Myers and with Joshua Myers on getting a ministry video edited, which will be available soon. Samuel also recorded his testimony, which can be viewed on You Tube.
God used Samuel to bring His word to The Father’s House family Church in Ohio as well, and to lead a reconciliation service and encourage the elders as they face some challenges there.
Florida
From Ohio we flew to Tampa, Florida where we spent 2 weeks, making new contacts and sharing in Pathways Community Church.
We were able to do a baby Bottle drive there and will be collecting about 100 baby bottles filled with coins, bills and cheques on the first Sunday of January. The church there said that they will continue the baby bottle drive and make it an ongoing fundraiser for the Father’s Heart Foundation.
God connected us with a pastor and businessman in Tampa who has a for-profit business with the purpose of providing for the kingdom of God. He had a meeting scheduled with his Board on a Monday morning to discus how they could become involved in building orphanages and on Sunday morning, the morning before the scheduled meeting, he was visiting pathways Community church where he heard us share ~ we answered the question of where to start and so, O.T.H.E.R.S Inc. Will be using the profits of the construction site that they are working on right now, to purchase one acre of land and then plan to work towards donating the rest of the funds needed to purchase 50% of the land before our deadline of February 2011! They will also help us with other donations through their network of businesses, with a goal of getting us a generator and beginning construction this year! AND, they would like to open a manufacturing plant in El Salvador for the earthquake/hurricane/flood-proof building material that they use in Florida and are making plans to help us establish a plant that we would then run as a source of income for the Children’s Centers in the future.
World Outreach Ministries
Our trip to the USA also connected us with a missions service organization which has accepted us as Affiliates and will be a home office for us in the USA, doing for us in the USA what Bible Fellowship missionary Society does for us in Canada. (They will receive all of the financial gifts given in the USA, issue tax receipts, send out news and prayer requests) and get the funds to us promptly.
This is how you can support us in USA:
1. Make Cheques to World Outreach and designate for Samuel & Charity, Fund Code #66.
2. Send your Tax Deductible Gifts to:
World Outreach Ministries
P.O. Box B
Marietta, GA 30061 USA.
(Designate for Samuel & Charity #66)
Canada
We then travelled to Canada until the 12th of January and had a few meetings and one fundraiser planned. We were able to share with the congregation at Bible Fellowship Foursquare Church in Surrey and give them a ministry update, which went really well. The Fundraiser Dinner on Vancouver Island went very well and we were able to share with about 85 people what God is doing in El Salvador and how they can help, and we sold about 10 lbs of One Bean coffee as well! Thank you to everyone who came out to show your support!
We are praising God for the amazing meetings that he arranged for us in the USA and Canada and for leading us and providing for us on a daily basis!
We also praise God for providing a ticket back to El Salvador and for our renewed residencies here.
While we did make amazing connections and have promises of future support, we do not have enough personal support for living in El Salvador; please pray for us for provision and give as you feel lead.
PLANS FOR 2010
With your continued generosity and faithfulness we trust God to accomplish beyond what we have planned or imagined in 2010.
Here is what we hope to accomplish:
~Raise funds for the purchase of the land
~Provide water to the Father’s Heart Foundation and the surrounding community
~Tap electricity to the property
~Fence the property
~Plant maize/corn, Beans, peanuts/groundnuts and rice
~Build at least one family unit to take care of 12 children
~Train our first family parents
~Share the gospel with 140 families around The Father’s Heart Foundation
~Build a shade for community meetings

We are praising God for the amazing meetings that he arranged for us in the USA and Canada and for leading us and providing for us on a daily basis!
We also praise God for providing a ticket back to El Salvador and for our renewed residencies here.
While we did make amazing connections and have promises of future support, we do not have enough personal support for living in El Salvador; please pray for us for provision and give as you feel lead.
PLANS FOR 2010

Our First Family Parents
Today we went to Santa Ana to meet with our First Family Parents and their children. We will be meeting with them once a week for the rest of the year, as we prapare to establish our first family!
We will take turns between meeting at our home one morning and the next week going to the church in Santa Ana to meet them in the afternoon. Our children can play together as we study God's word and go through some training material together.
Our ultimate Goal is to know and to understand how to model the Father-heart of God, to strengthen our marriages and to form strong, godly families in preperation to adding orphaned and abandoned children into the Children's Center (Lord willing by this time next year we will have our first few children!).
As we grow and learn together, we will also be working on the land and our second crop of corn, beans, peanuts and other vegetables. And will continue to make more contacts, get more supporters and work towards the construction of our first family home. We hope to build in September and to be able to move both of our families into the home before receiving our first est of babies/toddlers.
Please pray with us and support us where you feel lead, as we train our first family!

Who we are and How you can Partner with Us
here is a preview of some of our website material in English! Visit us at www.corazondelpadre.org
WHO WE ARE
The Father’s Heart Foundation is a Christian Children’s Center in El Salvador, which is made up of family groups, providing family to children who have no family. We are working hand-in-hand with the El Salvadoran Church and with partners around the world.
Each family group has a committed, long-term (permanent), El Salvadoran, Christian couple who care for up to 12 children as if they were their own children. Along with the parents, each family is also set up with an aunt/uncle figure (who can be from anywhere in the world and for short or long term).
We believe that God sets the lonely into families and that it is the responsibility of God’s people to care for orphaned and abandoned children; our goal is to begin with one piece of land that will house 7 families, with 12 children per family, beginning with children aged 1-5 years. These children will be given identity in a family and ultimately in Christ. And, once part of a family they will always be part of that family, even after being sent to school and university and even after becoming parents themselves. We desire to give these children a godly family that they can go on to model and stop the cycle of domestic abuse and child abandonment. In caring for the children’s holistic needs, each family is provided with a home within The Father’s Heart Foundation, with access to all of our services (counseling, medical, etc).
We desire to work with partners around the world, bringing hope to the hopeless and leading the orphan to the Father-heart of God.

We are in the beginning stages this ministry and are working hard to establish a goof foundation for The Father’s Heart Foundation. Here is a look at just some of the things that we accomplished in 2009:
• Wrote the Articles of Incorporation and Registered the Father’s Heart Foundation in El Salvador
• Spoke in different churches around El Salvador, to Fundraise, encourage the church and to challenge them to care for orphaned children.
• The Directors of The Father’s Heart Foundation went to Ohio, Florida and to Vancouver, Canada to raise funds and find ministry partners.
• We did an “Adopt a Bottle” event in 4 churches
• We did evangelism and hosted a Children’s Outreach event in the community of Canton Primavera Arriba, Quetzaltepeque
• Cleared the land, which was like a Jungle before!
• Planted and harvested Maize/corn, beans and peanuts, which we donated to another orphanage in Nejapa.
• We identified our first Family Parents!
In 2010, we will be:
• Fundraising to buy just under 9 acres of land and to build our first family house.
• Building our first family house, in September (If you would like to be part of the construction team, write us today!)
• Planting beans, corn, peanuts and other vegetables
• Training and discipling our first Family Parents
• Evangelizing and discipling the community where the children’s center will be.
